The start of my internship

    Ann

Hi there. Today I want to tell you about my first week in Yinghua International School , Tianjin .

My name is Ann and I’m from Ukraine , a beautiful country in Eastern Europe . I came to China for a short six-week internship. My task here is teaching English for Korean senior students. Actually I was asked to improve their English speaking level, but after the first class I realized that we should have some grammar and reading hours first, because we often have a lot of misunderstanding in pronunciation and don’t understand each other.

In my class I have 10 students and they have different English level. So in the beginning I had to determine their abilities in it, for that I prepared some tests and reading materials. However, English is difficult for my students and often they lose their attention because they don’t get any point of what I am talking about. I will be doing my best for the students, because they need English for entering the universities and for life in general.

I really like the environment here, in school. All the teachers from my international department are really nice and outgoing people. One young Chinese teacher is the same age as me and she knows Russian language well, and it really helps when we go together to canteen and Xiao can tell me what we have for dinner or lunch, because I don’t eat meat and have to choose dishes without it and it would be really hard without her. I really like Chinese and Korean food, it’s new for me and I’ve always wanted to try it.

This school is really great and I’m very glad to be here. It is a big experience for me. I hope I will spend my time here with both benefit for me and for school.
