¢ñ. The Brief Introduction of the Yinghua International School
With a 162-mu area, 100 thousand square kilometers in construction, Tianjin Yinghua International School is located in Yongyang West Road in Wuqing District, Tianjin. The first-class School was built with 220 million RMB by Wuqing-Tianjin Development Zone. And it is operated by Guangzhou-Huamei International Education Investment Group which has 14 successful years of running schools. Deng Xiaoping’s theory that “Education is aiming at the world, future and modernization” is the guiding ideology of the School. Based on that, we define the school-running philosophy is “to integrate the oriental and western cultures, develop a world perspective, and cultivate the outstanding students for the world today.” We are aiming to cultivate the “backbones of our nation, elites of the world” and make Yinghua become a famous internationalized school in China. The Yinghua-Bond International College is part of the Tianjin Yinghua International School Campus. The Yinghua-Bond International College is a new-styled international high school cooperated by the Tianjin Yinghua International School and Toronto International College, Canada. The College moved the most developed Ontarian secondary school education to China. It offered a new way to study for junior school graduates---studying Canadian senior school courses without going abroad. The students will be directly enrolled by the Canadian universities if they pass the examinations. And they will be enrolled by the famous Canadian, British, American or Australian universities if they can get an outstanding result. The students here can receive more open-minded education, enjoy more high-qualified teaching resource and develop scientific, healthy and innovative spirit and characters.
Tianjin Yinghua International School’s superior--- Guangdong-Huamei International Education Investment Group has sent more than 1,000 students to study in dozens of universities of Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. The admission and visa-obtained rate is separately one hundred percent and ninety-nine percent. And many students obtained the scholarships from foreign universities.

All the 27 graduates of Grade 2006 were enrolled by the universities in Canada, Britain and the USA. (One of them was enrolled by State University of New York--- Stony Brook and the other was enrolled by University of Oregon.)
All the 23 graduates of Grade 2007 entered Canadian undergraduate programs. Li Fan and Wang Jie respectively acquired scholarship valued 12,000 Canadian dollars from Alberta University and Trent University.

Characteristic Management of Teaching
1). International Teaching system and mode: Yinghua-Bond International School adopted teaching in small classes, bilingual teaching, Credits Management, absorbing Orient and Eastern teaching advantages, stressing on developing the students’ correct outlook on life and independent & initiative researching spirit. The professional teachers from China and Canada teach the program together. During the 3-year study, the students can get the alien English-Spoken teaching at most of the time everyday. Then they can obtain dual diplomas after their hard working.
2) The Open Homework Mode: In order to make the students adapt the western educational mode and develop the students’ practical abilities, the College adopt the Open Homework Mode. Such as survey reports, information collection, thesis writing, stage play, PowerPoint making and so on. The students have to take advantages of Internet, collect all kinds of information and work together to complete the assignment. Therefore, they can strengthen the active learning sense, practical abilities and teamwork.
3) Formative Assessment System: Different from the Summative Assessment System that has been used, the College uses the Formative Assessment System. In order to make the students familiar with the foreign teaching requirements, the Formative Assessment System instead of the Summative Assessment System is also carried on the Chinese courses. By the way, the Summative Assessment System emphasizes the daily teaching activities and assesses the interests, attitudes and participation during the learning process. According to the teachers’ assessment, we can know the teaching successes by stages, as well as the problems. So that we can adjust and improve the teaching ways. The assessing requirement: fifty percent of mid-term examination and final examination’s report, fifty percent of daily behaviors (including study, tests of each units, attendance and homework). The Formative Assessment System increased the students’ activities in study, forming habits and accumulating knowledge.
Frequent International Communication: During the four years, the College had organized Toronto English Summer Camp twice, Australian Winter Camp once and London Summer Camp once. More than 100 students took part in it. In 2005 and 2006, over 20 famous Canadian universities visited the College.

All the internal teachers are teaching mainstays in country, provinces or cities. And all the Certified Canadian teachers are chosen and sent by the foreign organizations.
The Introduction of Some Canadian Teachers:
Elizabeth A. Jarrell: Bachelor of Arts, who completed the Professional Education Program in Ontario, Ottawa Teachers’ College in 1969. In 1978 she graduated from Trent University, Ontario, major in English and History. In 1980, she accepted the Training of Principal Certification and Special Education Experts from the University of York. In 1990, she obtained the degree of Master of Education Management in Niagara University. She has been a teacher for 37years. And she also works as vice-Principal, Principal and the President of Foreign Communication Association for 16 years. Now she is the Canadian Principal of Yinghua-Bond International School.
Zenon Kozrya: the degree of Bachelor of Arts and Education. He graduated from Lakehead University and Queen's University. He possesses 30-year teaching experiences in secondary schools and universities and 8-year experiences of being a librarian. Now he is working as a language teacher in Yinghua-Bond International School.
Patricia Ellen Talbot: the degree of Bachelor of Arts. She is the Qualified Teacher of Ontario with rich teaching experiences. Now she serves as an ESL teacher in Yinghua-Bond International School.
Mehrnaz Memar-Sadeghi: the degree of Bachelor of Education. She accumulated a lot of teaching experience after teaching in many Canadian schools. Now she works as an ESL teacher in Yinghua-Bond International School.
Mohammad Shoraka: the degree of Bachelor of Education. He worked as a mathematics teacher or a physics teacher in many schools in Canada. He had also been a teacher in Dalian Maple Leaf International School. Now he is a physics teacher in Yinghua-Bond International School.
Yinghua-Bond International College has set up the Five-Year Plan for Development and has established the working direction of “Further building our international character of education, rectifying and reforming Chinese and Western Courses, cultivating talents for the internationalized development in future”. The College works hard to become a famous international school in Northern China in the following three to five years.
